Nothing in TurboGears prevents the use of other JavaScript libraries. The way MochiKit is written, it's *very* compatible with other libraries (and Bob has gone out of his way to make sure it plays nice with Dojo and Prototype). For my Effective Ajax presentation, I actually used Scriptaculous in parts without a problem.
