I think it's unclear exactly which directions quickstart will grow in. I'm not a huge fan of code generation, in general, because of the tradeoffs you have to make. I think it more likely that quickstart will grow more templates than lots more options... especially given that the TurboGears philosophy tries to point people down one specific path to get their jobs done. That's part of the reason I'm inclined to add the switch for SQLAlchemy. SQLAlchemy has an unusual status in the project: heir apparent. It doesn't have the tool support of SQLObject (yet), but it's a good choice for many projects, so we support it. Nothing along those same lines is expected right now.
