Can I confirm that turbovnc-1.2.80 is the version you are referring to?

I am trying to build from source but I am finding issues with the cmake scripts 
and finding libturbojpeg.a in a non-default location. If it is the above I'll 
fix the errors and feedback what I did to get them to work.

Have you tried the 2.0 pre-release? I have seen a similar report to this with 
another application. It's failing because the version of RANDR supported by 
TurboVNC 1.2.x is not new enough. There is no way to make that version of 
TurboVNC support XKEYBOARD or RANDR 1.2. Hence the X server was completely 
refactored for TurboVNC 2.0. I am working hard to land that version early next 
year, but there is still a lot left to do.
