I just spotted one detail in your list. Some of the files you report are in the "target" folder, and are therefore generated as a result of running a build on your local machine, which might indicate that your development tools might be creating the suspicious files. However, this wouldn't seem to be the whole answer, since others of the files are under the "src" hierarchy.
