That's not python code - it's interpreted by the shell (on Linux/Unix) to determine what to invoke to process the file - in this case the python interpreter. Whether there's a space there or not doesn't usually matter to the shell, and python doesn't care because it's seen as a comment when the code is compiled. In short - either is fine.
