It works now :-) except that Tux says both the alias of the contact
and its status (occupied, away, etc):

    "Alice is online"
    "Bob Occupé is online"

This is weird, and I think Tux should only say the name.

Unfortunately, from what I see in your code libpurple returns the
status as part of the contact's alias ! This is pretty stupid, and I
hope there's a way to get the alias (or name) *only* ?
