How is it costly? It is three hacks as judges, a set/studio, and a
bunch of morally lacking singers. It is a high school talent show,
minus the talent. If music licensing fees are too high, have
contestants sing songs in the public domain, or (here's a novel idea)
cast contestants who write their own songs.
