For only the second time in the 36-year history of the present
incarnation of "The Price is Right," yesterday a contestant got the
actual retail price of a Showcase on the nose and picked up over $56K
in goodies (video from VH1 "Best Week Ever" blog):

The last time it happened was in 1972--and Bob Barker didn't see it
that time around, since it was on the weekly syndicated version hosted
by Dennis James--in addition, it was before the rule awarding
contestants both Showcases for close bids went into effect, so that
contestant back then only got one Showcase.
