My point is that singing talent is one small part of what makes most music acts successful, even if we're just defining success as "suitable to be booked on a late night show." The lead singer for Kings of Leon isn't a great vocalist, but he apparently brings enough to the band (whether or not he's involved in songwriting) that they've been visible for a couple of CDs.
