I would have Alan Shore argue that nobody remembers what Farah was on
the show promoting. (If memory serves me right) it was something
involving body painting a wall with her bosoms as a brush. The "She's
50!" Playboy issue was December (per wiki).

If someone wants to watch it on Youtube for me and tell me, go right
ahead. (Sir Tom still pays for the affordable dialup.)

I'll grant you she was potentially a B-guest at the time (as opposed to
Dave's other fave women: Julia Roberts, Drew, or Isabella Rosalini.) But
any publicity is good publicity, people may have thought she was
dumber than a box of rocks, but ... at least people still talk about the
interview 11 years later. (The Michael Richards interview or Twilight
Girl, probably not so much.) Which is a major flaw regarding any modern
magazine list, particularly TV Guides.

Current events are more heavily weighted. Therefore any tv show within
the last 5 years (i.e. Desperate Housewives / Greys Anatomy, The Hills)
gets on because it's newer and the idiot writers have to do less
research. Idiot Writer(s) at Time consider 4 of Dave's interviews in the
last 3 years the worst ever. To which I say ... Donz would probably be
the person to put together such a list because HE'S WATCHED ALL OF THEM.

NY Daily News regarding the return visit:
FARRAH TO ENCORE WITH LETTERMAN
Tuesday, October 5th 1999, 2:11AM

Farrah Fawcett next week will return to the scene of her now-infamous
interview on CBS' "Late Show With David Letterman." On Wednesday, the
former "Charlie's Angels" star will make her first visit to the CBS late
nighter since June 6, 1997, when her appearance on the show caused folks
to suggest she was drunk. Fawcett rambled on, appeared to lose her train
of thought and at times seemed utterly befuddled. While funny to watch,
the incident created a firestorm of speculation over Fawcett's health
and future.

Over the summer, Fawcett chalked up her past "Late Show" experience to
bad advice on how to behave. "I actually had a good time," Fawcett said.
"And I was going to say this I said, 'When I go back, I'm taking my mom
with me because she's the one who said, 'Just go and have fun. Have a
sense of humor.' "

And I'll take this blogger over Time's stupid stupid stupid top ten
list: This guy puts Farah on his 9 Best Interviews (at least youtube
linkable) list along with Courtney Love, Cher, and Richard Simmons.

According to Sally Kirkland, who worked with Paris on the last E! series
of the Simple Life (Goes to Camp) (they put out a soundtrack CD), Ms.
Hilton, who is very rich on her own (having been disowned) thanks to her
merchandise and having people pay her appearance fees to attend their
parties (and get on TMZ, US Magazine), Paris off camera is a pretty
smart cookie.

I don't call them bad so much as suggest that the Stupid Time writer's
assessments of how they went for the stars involved might have viewed
their own interviews in retrospect. And not agree with others in this
thread that MY GOD, DAVE IS A HORRIBLE INTERVIEWER AND I TEND NOT TO
WATCH HIM ANYWAY.

That said, I think I've written a more well researched cohesive rebuttal
on why this article is stupid than was put into the article itself. And
that's why many people may have been reading me for up to 11 years when
I joined the Late Show News Eye Witness Anchor Team.
