No, I don't think so. Hewitt was/is a producer more interested in the
presentation of news than the news itself. He had the honor of working
with Murrow when they were both at CBS News, but he wasn't one of
"Murrow's Boys." (I think most people would associate Hewitt with Fred
Friendly and "60 Minutes" than with Murrow.)

"Murrow's Boys" is understood to refer to the elite correspondents
tapped by Murrow to do reporting for him during World War II: Eric
Sevareid, Howard K. Smith, Richard C. Hottelet, William L. Shirer,
Larry LeSueur, Winston Burdett, Charles Collingwood, among others.
Douglas Edwards tried to imply he was a part of this group, but he
wasn't - he was a studio-bound newscaster, first, last, always. And
while Harry Reasoner did some reporting for Murrow, he never claimed
to be one of Murrow's Boys.
