John Ham's recent turn is a good example - the show was not always funny, but he was always fun to watch, and is just below Justin Timberlake as a contemporary go to SNL Host. OTOH, his Mad Men co-star January Jones, always fun to look to look at, was excruiating to watch when she hosted SNL - just sucked the life out of every skit she was in.
