BREAKING: Warner Bros. fires Charlie Sheen
Los Angeles Times | March 7, 2011 1:45 p.m. PT

Warner Bros., producers of the hit CBS comedy "Two and a Half Men," has
fired Charlie Sheen from the show.

In a statement, the studio said, "After careful consideration, Warner Bros.
Television has terminated Charlie Sheen's services on "Two and a Half Men"
effective immediately."

The move comes after several weeks of public battles between Sheen, Warner
Bros., CBS and Chuck Lorre, the show's executive producer and co-creator.

Production on the show was stopped so Sheen could go into rehab. Sheen did
his rehab at home, wanted to go back to work and then started bashing Warner
Bros., Lorre and CBS for not letting him resume his duties.

Sheen also went on a media rampage, appearing on NBC, ABC, CNN and even
Howard Stern. He retained Hollywood lawyer Marty Singer, who threatened to
sue Warner Bros. if Sheen was not paid for the rest of his contract, which
runs through next season.
Warner Bros. did not say if it would try to keep the show going without
Sheen.
