I want to believe that Back to Earth was not series 9 and that the 9th series of the events of Back to Earth (where Kochanski "dies", but actually left on the Blue Midget because Lister was depressed and she couldn't watch him destroy himself.) is the true 9th series we'll never see. The fictional fans of BTE say the 9th was the best one.
