The Mail's picking fights for no other reason than it's a BBC show--the
paper has long considered the Beeb a target for its alleged "liberal bias"
and overspending, not to mention the license fee and the alleged "dumbing
down" of its programming when they want to take the higher ground. Despite
their self-righteous stand on the boys' allegedly-racist antics, sometimes
I think the Mail would gladly applaud the return of "The Black and White
Minstrel Show" to the BBC airwaves (yep, white Brits in blackface
impersonating U.S. blacks of another era--and I believe it ran into the 80s
on BBC1).
