There's been a lot of controversy over the Brad Paisley/LL Cool J song
(The AV Club said it best when they said it brought black and white
people together in their mutual loathing of the song). I dig LL, so I
was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. I think he and
Paisley expressed themselves very well in the GMA interview; I only
wish their intent matched the end product. If the song can somehow
contribute to the national debate on race, great, but if that occurs
it will be in spite of how the song turned out, but because of some
hidden power in the lyrics.
