While these things make for entertaining bloopers, the idea that we don't
allow anchors to use grown up language for big people stuns me. We're in
2013 and people on TV have to adhere to the standards of the 1940s. Is
there anybody who believes Anderson Cooper's or Brian Williams' first words
upon arriving at the site of the Boston bombing weren't "fucking shit" or
some variation of the words? I'm shocked people can use the word pregnant
and don't have to appear on screen in seperate beds. Fuck and shit are
commonly used words that everyone over the age of 9 has heard and/or
uttered. At what point do we drop the pretense that they are somehow dirty?
