But I did notice also for the first time that the woman anchor is also surprised to be suddenly on the air (as he explained, she happened to be looking up when the red light came on, while he was studying his script trying to pronounce some difficult names, which was the proximate cause of his F-bomb. He was much more comfortable and smooth this morning than he was in the brief stint as an anchor (though, still not actually comfortable or smooth). I'm still not sure if he should have been fired in the first place, but I am even more sure that there was no need to fire him.
