Quite simply, all that ESPN gives a rat's ass about right now is obtaining sports properties and meeting Disney's profit goals (despite the obvious conflict between the two points). Everything else is irrelevant.
As for FS1, I have a horse in this race, as fellow former The Scarlet Letter (Athens High School, Troy, Michigan) writer Ryan Field got the call from Fox Sports Detroit to do hosting work there. While I have a general dislike of Fox Sports, I hope FS1 buries ESPN deeper than the Marina Trench.
