Before I could hazard a guess, I'd have to know how much class rock stations
already say that the Hall of Fame sucks.

Subject: [TV orNotTV] NoTV: NWA Nominated for Rock Hall of Fame, Republican
Rockists Sure to Scream Bloody Murder

As hip-hop acts reach the 25-years-since-career-began requirement of Rock and
Roll Hall of Fame induction, the group infamous for "F--k the Police" is on the
shortlist of nominees for this year, along Nirvana and some more expected acts:

The problem here, of course, is that despite the fact that R&B acts and other
African-Americans have been inducted into the Rock Hall, the audience who has
been informed by classic rock radio as to what is and isn't "rock and
roll"--and in most cases, the only black act heard on classic rock radio is
Jimi Hendrix--are going to be stamping their feet and whining at the thought of
any hip-hop act (or as they prefer to call it, "rap," usually in conjunction
with a certain word that rhymes with "rap") being in the same place as Elvis,
the Beatles, the Stones and the other acts they hear on those stations (well,
not Elvis--Presley or Costello).  This goes back to when the whole "Disco
Sucks" movement back in 1979 flushing black acts out of what was then known as
Album-Oriented Rock radio, along with James Taylor, Loggins and Messina and Cat
Stevens, to be replaced by the hard rock/metal acts that AOR radio had avoided
for years because the older end of the
target demos didn't want them (and the "free form progressive rock" jocks
before AOR avoided because they didn't like them).  Since classic rock radio
was created in the 80s to give listeners AOR without those pesky new songs and
the possibility of having to play the MTV darlings and Michael Jackson, a
generation of listeners have grown up believing that except for Hendrix, a
whole genre of music based on a form created by blacks is 100% lillywhite--and
many of them have turned to the right as they've gotten older (and most talk
radio music buttons these days are classic rock standards).  And their opinion
of hip-hop is about the same as any black who isn't Amos 'n' Andy, Bill Cosby,
Ben Carson, Herman Cain, etc.--they don't like the [word redacted].  If NWA is
inducted, will classic rock radio start saying "Rock Hall Sucks?"
