I'm crashing on something, or else I'd take off on a tangent on 20/20 news, so I'll just do a quick sidebar (sorry)
Was driving home one day in the Chicagoland area when one of the FM rock stations (and I'm being vague because I can't remember what station it was) played, I kid you not, an updated version of the three-note 20/20 news sounder. I yelled in an empty car "HOLY (fornication)!" I to this moment regret not writing down the station and calling them to find out who the hell produced the thing because that was so magnificently wonderful and it's one of those things where either no one had any inkling or a single rebellious person who respected history found this and said "This is what we oughta use" with the hope that some other schlub would hear it and have the same delightful reaction I did.
