This is quite a big relaunch for Millionaire which has been off British screens for a while, aside from reruns on a UK gameshow channel called Challenge TV. There's no daytime version.
ITV is giving it the full original "stripped" treatment, running it at 9pm nightly for a week - just as ABC did all those years ago. It kicks off after Britain's Got Talent which does good numbers for ITV, so it'll be interesting to see. While Clarkson has done other stuff in the past, including a few popular military history documentaries for the BBC, I don't know how he'll go down with more general audiences. YouTube trailer based around car shows promoting the Clarkson version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crcmSjbIx1k In other "Millionaire" news, there's actually a play in the West End at the moment called "Quiz the Play" which is about the case of three people in 2001 who tried to cheat the show, with the so called Coughing Major 'winning' the £1m. Unlike the movie, Slumdog Millionaire, they don't seem to have got the rights to the actual gameshow however.
