Really, seriously, the 24 inch dish is not getting everything up there. And you can totally forget about getting any DVB S2 on that dish. It just isn't happening - trust me on this. I would have to see proof of that to be convinced. I have tried a Dish500 and it just won't do it. Also, if you want to watch tv during the rain, it seriously will never work.
Now, with a hotdish 90 and a CBand LNBF like BSC421 you can get the higher powered C Band stuff. But you need a full meter dish or larger if you intend to try this out. It does work, but again S2 signals are never going to show up. More and more of the FTA channels are going to S2, at least the ones most people wnat to see are anyway. HD is almost all going to S2 for better picture quality. And you need a much better signal to ge ta lock on S2 signals. The smaller dishes will not work for this. I tried it and it worked. You can aim it at DN's satellite, but most of their DN channels are blocked, accept their promo ads for DN. I can still see it on my 24 inch DISH 500. NOW, with that you would have to consider which LNB you would want that fits with the dish. Either just FTA LNB or DN LNB. Mine works either way, but NOT for DirectTV. The DirectTV LNB would NOT work with Dish 500. Now if you want to get both C/Ku band, FTA, then you would need to have a bigger dish. Like the other members said, 6 foot dish. This depends on your inviorment at your home. Such as spaces and the area where you live in. Hope this helps. I thought of to help out with infos. from what I've done. Good luck, Brian.
