Deprived of a computer, I worry for his sanity... As for the problem itself, looks to me like float to byte color conversion going whacky - no clamping, wrapping instead... Driver bug. Unfortunately the problem falls on us to fix, so I will recommend that we convert vertex arrays to byte as my engine (darkplaces) does, it is also a minor speed gain to do so.
