Hi All:

Once i installed Mysql 5.0 over mysql 4.
& i faced some problems.
So i thought of remove all mysql from my system
& will do a Fresh mysql 5.0.
i fired command.

# rpm -qa | grep -i mysql
perl-DBD-MySQL-2.9004-3.1
qt-MySQL-3.3.3-9.3
mod_auth_mysql-2.6.1-2.1
php-mysql-4.3.9-3.1
mysql-bench-4.1.7-4.RHEL4.1
MySQL-python-1.0.0-1.RHEL4.1
mysqlclient10-3.23.58-4.RHEL4.1
mysql-devel-4.1.7-4.RHEL4.1
mysql-server-4.1.7-4.RHEL4.1
mysqlclient10-devel-3.23.58-4.RHEL4.1
freeradius-mysql-1.0.1-2.RHEL4
mysql-4.1.7-4.RHEL4.1

I got the above results.
i removed these all packages & now following two are remaining.

perl-DBD-MySQL-2.9004-3.1
mysql-4.1.7-4.RHEL4.1

Now for these i am facing some dependencies issues.
#rpm -e perl-DBD-MySQL-2.9004-3.1
error: Failed dependencies:
perl-DBD-MySQL is needed by (installed) mysql-4.1.7-4.RHEL4.1.i386
for other one ...
#rpm -e mysql-4.1.7-4.RHEL4.1
error: Failed dependencies:
        libmysqlclient.so.14 is needed by (installed)
perl-DBD-MySQL-2.9004-3.1.i386
        libmysqlclient.so.14 is needed by (installed)
cyrus-sasl-sql-2.1.19-5.EL4.i386
        libmysqlclient.so.14 is needed by (installed)
dovecot-0.99.11-2.EL4.1.i386
So do i need to uninstall these packages to do a error free , fresh
installation of
mysql 5.0? if yes how to do that ?
or else i can do fresh installation of mysql 5.0.

Thanks
Sumit
