Never mind, it is even strange. Yes, I use the mentioned meta tag without success. BTW, the page http://twitter.github.io/bootstrap/ doesn't use the meta tag. These site causes the rendering problem too. The culprit isn't the webpage, it must be something in the settings of the system. I compared the settings in group policies from a working system and a PC with problems. There wasn't any difference. OK, I can say it is a rather exotic problem with just two machines, something is screwed up, but I'm interested in finding the culprit yet. If anyone have an idea of a point to search further I would like to know it.

Thanks
Lutz

I apologize if my question was redundant.

Have you tried using a meta tag to force IE to not use compat mode?

<meta <http://december.com/html/4/element/meta.html> http-equiv=
"X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge" />

I experience a strange problem with a brand new IE 10 on WIndows 7. The
result is the page is not displayed at all. Even the original
twitter-bootstrap website at http://twitter.github.io/bootstrap/ isn't
showed or a rather simple page taken from the bootstrap doc page doesn't
work. It results in a message: the IE is switching to compatibility mode
since displaying problems and the page shows nothing. Additionally a
javascript error arise (it is a german system) :

Meldung: Funktion erwartet

A screenshot is attached too.

If I remove the linking to the bootstrap.css the page is showed without
errors. I'm a bit lost, any ideas?
