Your AV was at 7C8224B2 (dll-version?) Alexander's is at 7C92BD02 (dll-version?), so may or may not be the same problem. How many concurrent clients were connected, could you watch a relationship to the number of connections? You also wrote in 2007 that it happened only in Windows 2003, in XP it were OK. Was it W2K3 SP1? It's illogical, but have you tried to turn OFF Data Execution Prevention for your app?
