I have been planning to write such an extension for like an year but, unfortunately, I haven't found time to do it (there's some personal life that I want to live ;-\). I primarily wanted it for BE users since it's a real problem to administer a website from an untrusted computer. It was supposed to adher to RFC 2289 (http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2289.txt) since there's plenty of client software for authentication (creating answers to challenges), like Java applications for mobile phones.
