The reason is: I have a nice Installation I would like to use for
another site. I like to show the UID in the page tree also to editors,
so they can reference the page easily. But if these are very high, it
might look odd.
What do you think about that?
As long as you tell them to not create new pages, to not reach 4-digit
numbers and thus keep the tree really clean.. of course! *scnr*
Do it on your own risk, if you really want it. From a technical
perspective, it makes no sense.
