Well, it used to work OK. Then I did some patches for 4.5.x
compatibility which may have broken things. Anyway, I wonder whether you
use some lightbox script or common popup window. Is the image cropped or
is it just displayed cropped but the image itself isn't cropped? Because
the code doesn't do cropping.

what version of TYPO3 do you use? I have a site with 4.5.x that uses
my extension and has a lot of images and I don't have any problems
(check out www.tanecniaktuality.cz).

If you click on one of the images you get a bigger image in the pop-up

This was showing OK when imagemagick was installed on the server, but
now the webhost has removed imagemagick so I had to install jb_gd_resize
in order to handle the images on the website.

I thought that popup image is shown in its original size, usually. So,
what is your scenario? You have an image that is bigger than maximum
size?
