Ironically, this is an instance of a locality in North America choosing between permanent DST (UTC-7) or permanent DST + 1 (UTC-6), effectively a DST offset of 2 hours. Cranbook, BC for instance, one of the principal cities of these localities, has a longitude of -115.75, which corresponds to a UTC offset of about -7.7. Makes me wonder if anyone is going to choose permanent DST + 2 eventually. I believe Yukon currently also has a DST+1 timezone and Alberta just enacted a UTC+0.5 timezone.
