/etc/magic

Hopefully, the folks from IBM can update it for UV 10.x. ;-)

You'll have to write a little shell script or perl script to lumber
through
the directory contents find the UV stuff (etc).

At the UV BASIC program-level Richard Sias wrote a utility to extract
details of UV file types, which is detailed here:
