Shawn, In AE you could use the Match command. Might work better for you than Locate.
Where nnn = number of lines to search (always start at the top) Mnnn/0x'+' Find all Matches with lines ending in '+'. Literal zero, x Mnnn/'*** '0x Find all lines starting with '*** ' Mnnn/0x'error'0x Find all lines with 'error' anywhere in the line.
