[U2] UV9 on Linux w/ UniObjects

I received the below request this morning; does this mean anything to
anyone here?

I am struggling with a problem with UniVerse & UniObjects.  When I use
UniObjects on a linux box (vs. windows), all of the delimeters AM, VM,
& SVM are set to 65533.
 
Have you ever heard of anything like this?
