As someone who teaches them regularly, I'd recommend the IBM "official" classes. The UV900 (UniVerse Essentials) class is designed for newbies, who can then stream into UV903 (UniVerse Database Programming) or UV904 (Administering UniVerse). Sure there are others but these three (a) are scheduled - and run - on a regular basis and (b) will give your people a good grounding.
