You might want to check that read-ahead is turned off as well. It's great
for multi-GB sequential processing of files by SQL but a pain for random
file access.

Subject: [U2] UV - write size [not-secure]

Current System: Solaris 8, UniVerse 10.0.8 with 32 bit and 64 bit
dynamic files.
Destination System: Solaris 10, UniVerse 10.2

A vendor who will be configuring Veritas Volume Replicator has asked me
what the "write size" is on our system. I have no clue... How can I
find out?

I took a swag of 8kb, because the question jiggled something in the back
of my mind, but now I'm worried that answer is terribly wrong... (Though
I did warn the vendor that I was guessing...)
