Hi Kevin They do the same thing in IIS. It is a security issue to restrict unauthorized users from accessing greater functionality. I would suspect this is to stop hackers being able to use SQL Queries to access the operating system and carrying out malicious activities. This is probably part of the security enhancements being made to SQL Server, maybe different patch updates between the 2 servers.
