POSTDOCTORAL AND DOCTORAL POSITIONS
               AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL ICT CENTER

The Australian National ICT Center (NICTA) is a new research institute
jointly set up by the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and the Australian
National University (ANU) with respective nodes in Sydney and Canberra. It is
funded by the Australian Federal and State Governments, in partnership with
the two universities and industry. NICTA will host top-ranked international
researchers and graduate programs, and will cover major areas in computing,
systems and telecommunications.

The NICTA home page is http://www.nicta.com.au. In it there are links to the
existing programs (more will be added in the future), and vacant positions.

The activities of the Knowledge Representation and Reasoning (KRR) program
(http://www.nicta.com.au/kr.html) are typified by the content of papers
appearing in, say, the KRR section of the IJCAI proceedings, with an
additional focus on planning and constraints. The program has the
pre-existing multi-university Knowledge Systems Group (KSG) as its initial
core, but now seeks to expand by recruiting research personnel and graduate
doctoral students. At the moment, post-doctoral fellows and doctoral students
are sought: for information on how to apply and conditions please follow the
Positions Vacant link in the NICTA home page.

KRR welcomes preliminary inquiries about other levels of personnel.
