Open Positions ? Intelligent Computing Lab Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) SAIT is looking for talented research scientists in the field of intelligent computing. Located in South Korea, SAIT?the central R&D institute for Samsung Electronics and the Samsung Group?develops the seed technologies that will lead Samsung’s future business ventures. There are currently two job openings available in the Intelligent Computing Lab at SAIT. The research in this lab focuses on the fields of future healthcare, consumer electronics, and IT service solutions. Candidates should have a Ph. D degree and research experience in the relevant academic fields. 1. SAIT’s Intelligent Computing lab is seeking a research scientist capable of leading projects that will define new exciting research problems in machine learning algorithms and applications. Responsibilities: - Participate in advanced research in machine learning algorithms and applications - Define research problems and manage projects - Develop solutions for real-world, large-scale problems - Interact with the leadership of SAIT and business organizations regarding research results - Manage collaborations and establish leadership in the research community Requirements: - PhD in Computer Science, Math, Statistics or related discipline preferred - Strong background in machine learning required - Successful and proven track record on some machine learning related projects - Experience in research leadership required - Background in natural language processing, healthcare applications, or implementation of commercial products and services would be pluses - Strong communication skills 2. The lab is also seeking a qualified researcher with a strong background in the fields of data mining, image processing, or computational bioinformatics. Responsibilities: - Participate in cutting edge research in data mining, bioinformatics, medical informatics, and image processing - Develop solutions for real problems in algorithm design, system development, and commercialization Requirements: - PhD in Computer Science, EE, Math, Statistics or related discipline preferred - At least five years of experience in data mining, bioinformatics, medical informatics, image processing or relevant fields are required - A proven track record of research achievements including publications in premier journals and participation in conferences is required - Research experience in world-class institutes would be a plus - Strong communication skills How to apply: Samsung Electronics, Co., Ltd. is an equal opportunity employer offering a competitive salary with bonuses, world-class research facilities, and a stimulating, supportive work environment.
