Steve, If you are contemplating replacing your M5 radios with AC radio of the same antenna gain you may want to consider that you need another 10 dB of gain with the AC's for full modulation, -65dB is required for AC rather then the -75 required for M5. Also, another consideration is the modulation rate is also dependent on the CINR, a calculation of the difference between the Rx signal and the noise plus interference. A CINR of 25db or better, 30 being optimum, will give you full modulation if your Rx signal is -65 or better. So, those bigger dishes may be what you want. We have found that anything over 1.5 miles requires a PBE-5AC-620, or larger, for full modulation when the noise floor is below -90dB. If your noise floor is in the 80's, 6X is probably as good as you'll get.
