The beauty of Unix is, of course, that even if the original format would be bad in terms of accessibility, you can reformat all you like by piping stuff to other commands. True true, I don't like that either. Gnome's Gconf app is a cleaner implementation with a much better GUI and naming than Regedit. The trouble is that ORca doesn't trakc my selection in trying to edit a list of items in Gconf such as the visible columns in Nautilus. <info> > What do you mean by "widely"? INfo is quite nice, info core-utils gives a clear categorization of what the various shell commands operate on, for example.
