it seems like i was trying to upgrade from ubuntu hardy to lucid. however the speech went halfway through my upgrade so i had to force my laptop to shutdown and restart only i don't think ubuntu upgraded properly as the menus still look like hardy menus as if nothing changed yet it seems to be accessing the ubuntu lucid repositories when i do an apt-get update so something has gone wrong somewhere.
