Does anyone have a link to this in the mailing list archives? I'm
interested in which expertise and how they can be applied to the team.

That's not necessarily a bad thing, I am a member of the ubuntu
beginners team and recently there was a lot of structure and
administration introduced, and quite a few members have since felt the
team has changed radically from its original goals and left.

In my opinion we have a very (very) fine line for these sorts of teams
between being generally a social group that attempts to spread the
word where it can and a bureaucratic mess.

Not to take away from the loco but on the ubuntuforums and launchpad
would love your help! As was quoted to me recently there's about 500
bugs for every 1 developer, and a lot of those are duplicates, me and
kermaic are both apart of the 5 a day team
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/5-A-Day) but you don't have to go that far,
even just answering a couple posts in ABT would be enough to warrant
joining (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BeginnersTeam)

So your help is definitely wanted, it's just directing it in the right
area, in regards to directing your help specifically at this loco:

What exactly do you expect to happen? Remembering we do have the issue
of being a country wide loco.
