I suppose Network manager itself is doing the job of configuring according
to predefined setup (I mean when you select your network provider for
example Grameen, it might load grameen setting to a predefined file)

just my guess, not sure at all...... it would be nice to ask that question
at https://answers.launchpad.net/

and if anyone does ask that question, please don't forget to ask why the
hell they removed wvdial........
