The presumed guilty drm modules are part of the linux kernel. The
workaround to disable dri for these cards should be applied to the xorg
configuration scripts.
Depending on the number of affected cards/users (of this bug and not all
the other similar things commented on here), the workaround should make
it into an updated live cd if possible.
