Installed simple-ccsm. I think it's selecting 'Extra' that's causing the settings to be lost because if I select Custom, choose desktop cube instead of the default desktop wall, switch to None, then switch back to Custom, the cube seems to be retained. However, if I select Custom, choose desktop cube, switch to None, then switch to Extra, the cube is automatically replaced with the default setting of desktop wall - and if I then switch to Custom, the desktop wall option is retained.
