** Description changed: Kubuntu and Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex Beta Not sure the package, tried to narrow this down to nvidia graphics drivers. I still think it may be a problem with the new nvidia-graphics drivers in 8.10, although even after removing anything nvidia* I still get the corrupted screen. I expected to have a running OS that I could see. After the loading spash screen, my screen turns into a screen full of vertical lines flashing grey and many colors, that is it. (no failsafe x-server or anything) This occurs with the new kernel in 8.10 and the old kernel from 8.04, so its not a result of the new kernel as was suspect in the beginning. This occured when I updated via update-manager -d in ubuntu 8.04, from the live cd for ubuntu 8.10 beta in both the install option and run off of live cd option, and when installing via adept_manager --dist-upgrade-devel in kubuntu 8.04. I tried all the suggested nvidia bug problems for the new graphic drivers in the ubuntu forums, but to no avail, my screen still is just full of flashing lines. + My graphics card is: nVidia Corporation NV43 [GeForce 6800 GS] (rev a2). Not sure what logs and info need be supplied, let me know and I will tried and supply them, although I am not sure how I would get them onto - here - I can only log into recovery mode and go to root terminal. + here - I can only log into recovery mode and go to root terminal.
