Thanks Stephen. Unfortunately, there is no trace of the crash in your log. I know you said that the machine completely dies, but I want you to try the following just on the offchance it produces something useful. Can you reproduce the crash from the console? If so, could you try the following:
sudo su echo 8 > /proc/sys/kernel/printk exit .....repeat steps to recreate the freeze here.... Does anything appear on the console? If so, please take a photograph incase it doesn't get written to disk, then try the following: Alt+SysRq+t - this will output all the tasks to the console if the machine is sufficiently alive. There will be too much info to fit on the screen if it works, and is only really useful if it gets written to disk. Alt+SysRq+p - this will give an indication of the current state of the CPU (if it works). Please photograph any results. If it works, it would be useful doing it 2 or 3 times. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Chris Coulson (chrisccoulson) Status: Invalid => Incomplete -- [intrepid] NetworkManager 0.7 hangs system https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/279287 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
