Still getting the error with 8.10 installed. noapic gets ride of it. The weird freezing/IO thing has stopped but still having USB issues (ohci works for a few hundred MB before crashing out and eventually coming back as ehci which is an improvement in usability but very slow). Still got slow ATA transfer but I guess these are for another bug report unless related to the timer???
