The attached Perl script is a workaround for the problem. Export one big
text file from FineReader, with pages delimited by \x0c. Then execute
this Perl script from your output directory, specifying the input text
file on the command line.

$ ls
309779-workaround.pl
book.txt
$ mkdir text
$ cd text
$ perl ../309779-workaround.pl ../book.txt

At this point, page files of the form 001.txt, 002.txt, ... will appear
in the current directory.
